On the afternoon of March 11th, 2008, the delegation of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, led by Kevin Thompson, the principal of The HKAPA, visited the Central Conservatory of Music. On behalf of President Wang Cizhao, Professor Xu Changjun, the Vice President of CCOM, hosted to the delegation. The members of this delegation include senior officials and deans of the departments in HKAPA. The delegation is invited by Ministry of Education and the aim is to strengthen the exchange and collaboration between universities in Hong Kong and Mainland.
During the meeting, the leaders of two institutions exchanged the ideas each other on collaborative project between CCOM and HKAPA. Professor Xu stressed that the two institutions should learn from each other's strong points for schools' development in the future; besides the academic exchange, we should also communicate the experiences in other fields, such as human resource, finance, administration, etc.
In front of a model for future campus design, Professor Xu introduced Hong Kong guests the future development of CCOM.
Professor Liu Hongzhu, the Deputy Director of President's Office,showed the guests round the campus. They visited the library, concert hall, practice rooms and recital hall and attended an orchestra rehearsal.
